Each year, California Institution for Men honors the life of Correctional Officer Manny Gonzalez. Officer Gonzalez lost his life on January 10, 2005, at the hands of an inmate. Correctional Officer Ronald Chesterman’s 15-year-old son, Noah, lived in California with his mother. He was visiting his girlfriend when a fire broke out.
