While transporting an inmate to the prison, Deputy William Hudnall was killed when his department SUV was struck head-on by a drunk driver. The collision caused Deputy Hudnall’s vehicle to plummet 100 feet down a canyon. Deputy Hudnall was taken to Kern Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Deputy Hudnall had served with the Kern County Sheriff’s Department for 9 years. He is survived by his wife Carrie, daughter Jennifer and son’s Josh, Creighton and Chancellor.
