Deputy Sheriff Robert Goodwin was killed when he was struck by a vehicle while supervising an inmate road crew. Deputy Sheriff Goodwin had served as a reserve deputy with the Clarke County Sheriff’s Department for 12 years and had began his first day as a full time deputy the day before the accident.He is survived by his son Robert “Steve” Goodwin, a booking jailer at the Sheriff’s Department and daughters Lynn and Vickie.
