Debra Askew

The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation is saddened to inform you of the passing of Debra Askew, wife of CPOF Chaplin Anthony Askew. Mrs. Askew died Monday, July 10th in a multi-vehicle accident.

Services will be Saturday July 22nd at the Troy First United Methodist Church. 213 North Three Notch Street, Troy, AL 36081.

A viewing will be held from 10:30-11:30am and funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm.

Please keep Chaplin Askew and their family in your thoughts and prayers.

Monessen corrections officer balances prison work life with mission trips.

As a corrections officer, Millicent Barber of Monessen must be tough.

“I’m a different person in prison,”Barber said.  “Sometimes I have to yell over 80 guys. In prison, you have to be tough. No one sugarcoats it.  They tell it like it is.”

But on the Christian mission trips she has taken, her maternal instincts take over.

Drunk driver kills off-duty Comal Co. Corrections Officer in Marble Falls

A drunk driver struck and killed an off-duty Comal County corrections officer on Tuesday.

The Comal County Sheriff’s Office says Officer Cynthia Young was in Marble Falls with her family to watch a Fourth of July fireworks show when she was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross a street on foot.

“Nearly 900 family members, friends, and supporters gathering at PNC Field in Moosic today to honor the life of Kris Moules. Moules was a correctional officer at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility and was killed in the line of duty last year.
