Scholarship Spotlight: Bryson Warner

The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation is proud to recognize Bryson Warner as a 2026 CPOF scholarship recipient.

Bryson, the son of Casey Warner of the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility with the Colorado Department of Corrections, will attend Grand Canyon University this fall, where he plans to pursue a degree that will prepare him for his long-term goal of becoming a successful entrepreneur in the construction industry.

For Bryson, success isn’t something that simply happens—it’s something that is built through hard work, responsibility, and perseverance.

Those values have already become the foundation of his journey. While still in high school at Pueblo West High School, Bryson took the initiative to launch his own landscaping and lawn care business, turning an idea into a real-world opportunity to learn what it takes to own and operate a business.

In his scholarship essay, Bryson shared that running his own business has taught him far more than how to mow lawns or maintain landscapes. It has strengthened his communication skills, taught him how to manage customers and schedules, and shown him the importance of delivering quality work. Most importantly, it reinforced that entrepreneurship requires patience, commitment, integrity, and a willingness to work hard every day.

Alongside building his business, Bryson remained committed to his education, taking challenging courses throughout high school that strengthened his writing, communication, and critical thinking skills. He understands that education will provide the knowledge and leadership skills necessary to continue growing both personally and professionally.

Bryson also credits his family with helping shape the person he is today. He shares that his mother has always encouraged him to believe in himself and continue pushing forward through challenges, while his father has instilled the importance of discipline, perseverance, and giving his best effort in everything he does.

Those lessons have fueled Bryson’s ambition to one day own and operate a construction business that not only provides opportunities for himself but also contributes positively to his community.

Receiving this scholarship will help ease the financial burden of college, allowing Bryson to focus on developing the business knowledge, leadership skills, and entrepreneurial mindset needed to achieve his goals.

We are proud to support Bryson as he begins this exciting new chapter and look forward to seeing the future he builds through determination, hard work, and service to his community.
