PROJECT 2000 XXXIV Seminars
Seminars are offered Saturday, June 17, 2023 during A.M. and/or P.M. sessions. A.M. sessions begin at 9:00 a.m. and P.M. sessions begin at 2:30 p.m. All sessions take place on the fourth floor and are approximately 90 minutes including a Q&A session. Some sessions do require you to bring certain equipment, please note that. Pre-registration is open to the first 20 attendees of each session. Wait lists will be available and used to determine if additional sessions are needed. Please be sure to register for only one seminar per session. They will occur at the same time, so it is not possible to take two seminars in either session.

Join Texas Field Representatives Eileen Kennedy and Kelli Forrester as they guide you through a Correctional Career as a woman. Learn from their combined 60 years with TDCJ about the progress already made for women in corrections and what the future holds.
Mental Fortification for Correctional Professionals
Led by- Lieutenant John Mendiboure

Working in the correctional setting presents unique challenges; join Lieutenant Mendiboure in this seminar that addresses correctional professional’s mental health concerns, the importance of self-care, suicide awareness in law enforcement and a Q&A session for the correctional setting.
Financial Planning for Today’s Correctional Staff

This financial planning seminar will guide correctional staff in ways to organize their finances, prepare for retirement and understand better ways to make their money work for them.
Faith, Fitness, Fun
Led by- Retired Warden and Current Wellness Coach Cecilia Reynolds
Saturday June 16th, A.M. & P.M. Session
Correctional staff regularly encounters people who are depressed, violent, sad, and lonely, and that’s not just the inmates. To survive, staff must have strong faith and show grace in adversity. In Faith, Fitness and Fun, Cecilia Reynolds will in ways to keep your mental state in check as well as your physical body and have a little fun while you do it! No matter your fitness level, you can participate. This seminar features dance, strength training and stretching. Release happy hormones and give your troubles to the Lord while having fun. Please bring water to drink and a bath towel from your room.
Critical Response in Your Institution
Led by- Retired Captain Guy Edmonds
Saturday June 16th, P.M. Session
Guy Edmonds, Colorado Field Representative, will guide you through what to do when a critical incident happens in your institution. His experience as the Team Commander for the Critical Incident Response Team in Colorado for 8 years will provide valuable information to prepare all correctional staff on what to do in their own institution during a critical incident.
Volunteering with CPOF

Have you ever been interested in volunteering with CPOF in your community or institution? Join Office Administrator Rachel Lee as she guides you through ways you can be effective in volunteering on behalf of CPOF. You’ll learn about the resources CPOF provides to staff, how-to sign-up members and ways to seek out assistance for an officer or staff member in catastrophic emergencies.
