Honoring a Founding Father: Glenn Mueller’s Legacy Lives On
At the heart of every strong organization is a driving force—someone whose vision, perseverance, and unwavering dedication lay the groundwork for something far greater than themselves. For the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation (CPOF), that person was Glenn Mueller.
Glenn Mueller was one of the original founders of CPOF and served as its first and longest-tenured Chairman of the Board. A career correctional professional, Glenn recognized early on the critical need for an organization that would stand beside the families of correctional staff during their darkest moments—when tragedy strikes in the line of duty. What began as a small, passionate effort has grown into a national nonprofit dedicated to “Taking Care of Our Own,” offering catastrophic assistance and unwavering support to the corrections community for over four decades.
Glenn’s leadership helped shape CPOF into what it is today: a respected and responsive support network serving correctional officers and their families nationwide. His commitment was not just organizational—it was deeply personal. He believed in the power of unity, compassion, and resilience, and he brought those values to every board meeting, every family visit, and every PROJECT 2000.
In June 2025, at PROJECT 2000 XXXVI in Bloomington, Minnesota, the Foundation honored Glenn’s enduring legacy in a deeply meaningful way. A commemorative bench was dedicated in his name at the beautiful Normandale Lake Bandshell, where hundreds of families and correctional professionals gathered for a weekend of remembrance, reflection, and community. The bench now stands as a permanent tribute to a man who spent his life ensuring that no correctional family faced hardship alone.
We were privileged to be joined by Glenn’s siblings during the dedication ceremony—an emotional and uplifting moment that reminded us of the lasting bonds Glenn created through his work with CPOF. Their presence underscored the familial spirit Glenn championed throughout his life and within our Foundation.
We invite you to watch the video below capturing the bench dedication ceremony. It’s a powerful reflection of the gratitude we feel for Glenn Mueller, and a reminder of the legacy we continue to uphold in his memory.
Glenn’s name is etched not only into the bench in Minnesota, but into the very soul of this organization. We carry his vision forward with every check delivered, every fallen family embraced, and every officer remembered.
Thank you, Glenn, for helping us build something that lasts.
