A few words from our Honor Guard Commander

“On Saturday, while traveling home after laying another Correctional Officer to rest in North Carolina, I had an opportunity to reflect on what the Honor Guard’s duty is to Corrections. In just two months time we have honored the lives of 2 Correctional Officers, 1 Parole Officer and 1 Detention Sergeant from different states who paid the ultimate sacrifice. The work of Corrections is not recognized as a profession that protects the public by keeping criminals off the streets. The every day dangers that these men and women across this great country experience at work undeniably goes unnoticed by the public.

Please read these names out loud as their families will not have them present this Christmas season.

Georgia Corrections Officer Robert Clark

Colorado Parole Officer Christine Guerin Sandoval

Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Correctional Officer Jovian Motley

Pamlico County Sheriff Office, Detention Sergeant Russell Jones

Finally, I would like to thank each and every member of the Correctional Peace Officers National Honor Guard and Foundation Reps, office staff, and Board of Directors, It is a privilege to stand next to you all while we honor the fallen and their families, while supporting them moving forward.

I ask that you share this page to raise awareness of the ultimate sacrifice paid by all in Corrections in years past.

Thank you..

Correctional Peace Officers Foundation”
