Every day, correctional professionals report for duty knowing the challenges, risks, and sacrifices that come with the profession. Whether working inside an institution, transporting offenders, supervising parolees, or supporting operations behind the scenes, correctional employees share a unique bond built on service, resilience, and dedication.
That same spirit is what drives the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation.
When someone becomes a supporting member of CPOF, they are doing far more than signing up for a membership card or receiving a magazine. They are joining a nationwide family committed to one simple mission: Taking Care of Our Own.
Membership dollars directly support programs that provide financial assistance to correctional professionals facing catastrophic illness, injury, natural disasters, and personal tragedy. Membership support helps fund scholarships for families, outreach programs across the country, memorial events honoring the fallen, and resources for survivors who need to know they are not alone.
Many members first learn about CPOF through a field representative visit, a social media post, or an event like PROJECT 2000. What keeps them involved is seeing the impact firsthand. They see families receive assistance when they need it most. They see scholarships helping students achieve their educational goals. They see correctional professionals from every corner of the nation come together to support one another.
But membership is only part of the story.
Behind every successful event, every scholarship announcement, every memorial ceremony, and every act of assistance is a dedicated team of volunteers. These men and women donate their time, talents, and energy to ensure the Foundation can continue serving correctional families across the country.
Volunteers assist with events, represent CPOF at facilities, serve on Honor Guard teams, support fundraising efforts, mentor new members, and help tell the stories of the profession. Their contributions allow the Foundation to extend its reach far beyond what a small staff could accomplish alone.
The strength of CPOF has never been found in a building, an office, or a logo. It has always been found in the people who choose to become involved.
Whether you are a supporting member, an active volunteer, or someone considering becoming more engaged, your participation matters. Every membership helps. Every volunteer hour counts. Every conversation about CPOF strengthens our ability to serve correctional professionals and their families.
Together, we honor those we have lost, support those facing difficult times, celebrate achievements, and ensure that no member of our correctional family stands alone.
If you are already a member or volunteer, thank you for helping us fulfill our mission every day. If you are looking for a way to make a difference, we invite you to join us.
Because when correctional professionals take care of their own, extraordinary things happen.
