CPOF is proud to offer scholarships to Correctional Staff and their families each year. In the coming weeks we will share more about how the scholarship program started and some of this years beneficiaries. Today, meet Ella Sockman.

If you think that young man posing with her looks familiar, you’re probably right! Ella is the granddaughter of Retired Commander Steve Dizmon of the National Honor Guard Team. Dizmon was the first to command the National Honor Guard team before Commander Ray Gonsalves began leading the team.

Ella had this to say about her scholarship:

Thank you so much for the generous CPOF Scholarship!
It means a lot to me and especially our family!
Here is a picture of me with the Scholarship packet and with my Grandfather – Steve Dizmon! It was so exciting to let him and my grandmother know about the scholarship, they were touched.
