McCoy, Jeffery

Probation/Parole Officer Jeffery McCoy was shot and killed while performing a pre-release supervision check at a home in Midwest City, Oklahoma. A male subject who lived at the home, but was not the focus of Officer McCoy’s visit, answered the door and immediately pushed Officer McCoy off the front porch. Officer McCoy was attacked and during the struggle the subject was able to gain control of Officer McCoy’s service weapon and shot Officer McCoy once in the head. Probation Officer McCoy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Oklahoma National Guard. He had served with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for seven years. He is survived by his wife Megan, son Alex, daughter Allie, and his parents Genese and Pat McCoy. Genese is a Medical Administrator with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and Pat is retired from Oklahoma DOC.
