Correctional Officer Daniel Leach was assigned to the Tucker Holding Facility in Laughlin, Nevada. On the morning of November 21, 2009 Officer Leach began his shift by picking up a prisoner transport van from the Clark County Detention Center. He was en route to the facility to pick up prisoners when the van he was driving collided with a semi truck that pulled into his path from a side street. Officer Leach had served the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Nevada for 25 years. He is survived by his wife Laura, son Christopher, daughter Alexandra, and parents James and Sandra.
