Correctional Officer Jayme Biendl was strangled to death in the Monroe Correctional Facility’s chapel by an inmate during an escape attempt. The inmate was serving a life sentence.Officer Biendl had served with the Washington State Department of Corrections for 8 years. She is survived by her father Jim, her mother Jackie and five siblings; Lisa, Christine, James, Deborah and Wade.
