Correctional Officer Ronald Johnson was killed by two inmates who were attempting to escape from the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls. Correctional Officer Anthony Souza, 44, unexpectedly passed away on September 27, 2021.  After graduating from the academy in 2002, he reported for duty at Pelican Bay State Prison.
