The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation recently provided bereavement assistance to Timothy Johnson following the tragic loss of his wife, Veronica Johnson, who passed away unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm on April 12, 2026.
After receiving a referral from Assistant Warden Shelley Bearden and Jim Freeman, the Foundation worked directly with the funeral home and Timothy Johnson to help ease the financial burden associated with funeral expenses during this incredibly difficult time. Following receipt of the funeral contract on May 4, 2026, assistance was approved and provided through the Foundation’s Catastrophic Assistance Program.
In moments of sudden loss, the emotional toll placed upon correctional families can be overwhelming. Through the generosity of CPOF members and supporters nationwide, the Foundation remains committed to standing beside correctional professionals and their loved ones when they need it most.
