Standing with Officer Curtis and His Family

The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation is honored to provide support to Correctional Officer Curtis and his family following the heartbreaking loss of his wife, Donna Kay Curtis, who passed away on March 5, 2026, at the age of 63.

Donna passed peacefully at her home in Bonham, Texas, surrounded by the love of her devoted husband. Her life was defined by compassion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to those she cared for most.

For many years, Donna worked as an insurance claims adjuster for Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she built a career rooted in helping others during difficult times. Following her retirement, she married Officer Curtis and embraced her role as a loving wife and homemaker, caring for him with the same grace and kindness that touched so many throughout her life.

Donna found joy in the simple, meaningful things—flowers, books, and most importantly, her family. She was a proud mother, sister, and grandmother, affectionately known as “Nonna.” Her time spent with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews created lasting memories filled with love and laughter that will continue to live on in their hearts.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Curtis; her mother; her daughter and granddaughter; and a large, close-knit family who will forever cherish her memory.

During times of loss, the weight carried by correctional families extends far beyond the walls of the facility. In these moments, it is our mission to stand beside those who serve and ensure they are not alone.

CPOF was proud to provide assistance to Officer Curtis to help ease the burden during this difficult time.

We ask that you keep Officer Curtis and his family in your thoughts as they navigate the days ahead and honor the life of a woman who meant so much to so many.

Taking Care of Our Own.
