Hospital Galveston – Texas

Correctional Officer IV Alondra Garcia, with Texas Department of Criminal Justice, was diagnosed with Wilson’s Disease. The disease resulted in cirrhosis of the
liver.  Officer Garcia and her husband have three young children at home.

A catastrophic assistance packet was sent to Officer Garcia on behalf of our catastrophic assistance program, funded entirely by supporting membership. Warden II Larissa Wysocki sent the following email update after presenting Officer Garcia with her assistance:

Thank you so very much for your generous donation to Correctional Officer Alondra Garcia and her family. The great news is that Ms. Garcia received a liver transplant 2 days ago and hopefully will be well on her way to a speedy recovery!

Thanks for all you do!
