CPOF Assists Sergeant Malcolm Hampton and Family After Devastating House Fire

When tragedy strikes, the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation (CPOF) stands ready to fulfill its mission of Taking Care of Our Own.

On September 12, 2025, Sergeant Malcolm Hampton of the Jess Dunn Correctional Center in Oklahoma, along with his family, experienced a life-altering event when a fire destroyed their home, taking with it all of their personal belongings. In the aftermath of the blaze, the family was left to rebuild from nothing — facing the immense emotional and financial toll that follows such devastation.

Thanks to the swift actions and compassion of those within the correctional community, CPOF was notified of the Hampton family’s situation. Warden Joshua Cultrera and Chief of Security Romon Jones, alongside Debbie Moore, immediately advocated on behalf of Sergeant Hampton, submitting documentation and photos to support the assistance request.

CPOF responded promptly by providing catastrophic assistance to help the family begin their recovery process. This support exemplifies the Foundation’s commitment to ensuring that no correctional employee faces hardship alone.

As the Hampton family rebuilds, CPOF extends its thoughts, prayers, and ongoing support. Their story is a powerful reminder of the courage and solidarity that define our correctional community.
