Correctional Officer Brenda McKinney recently suffered the loss of her husband Curtis. Curtis was murdered on September 11, 2023.  A 53-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the brutal murder of Curtis.

Curtis’ obituary reads:

“Curtis McKinney, 66, of Sikeston, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born November 29, 1956 in Vardaman, MS. to the late Charles and Bessie (Bean) McKinney.

He leaves to fondly cherish his memories: his wife, Brenda McKinney; three daughters: Kaiya (DeAngelo) Turner, Shamica (Charles) Hardin, Kim (Oscar) Dockery; two step-daughters: Heather Mitchell and Iesha Jackson; twelve grandchildren, six siblings, and a host of other relatives and friends. ”
