On January 15, 2025, Food Service Director Tassy Patrick sustained a serious on-duty injury while assisting in the kitchen at the Academy for Staff Development – West. Director Patrick slipped in grease that had spilled on the floor, and the full impact of the fall crushed her kneecap, requiring emergency surgery. She is currently expected to be off work for an estimated 3 to 6 months while recovering.

CPOF Field Representative Wendy Baur and Captain Wilson referred Director Patrick to our Catastrophic Assistance Program, and Facility Manager Randall Rasnake graciously presented her with her assistance packet. On behalf of the CPOF Board of Directors and its members, we were honored to provide financial assistance to Director Patrick during this difficult recovery period.
