Red Onion State Prison Correctional Officers Whitman, Boggs, Robinson, and Mullins were involved in a violent inmate assault on January 1, 2025. The incident occurred after an inmate, who became belligerent when denied a shower, covered his cell window and launched an attack with a prison-manufactured weapon.
Officers Boggs, Whitman, and Robinson were each struck multiple times in the head and face. All four officers were transported to the hospital, where they received stitches, tetanus shots, and additional medical treatment for their injuries.
Referred to our Catastrophic Assistance Program by Warden Anderson, Associate Warden Turner, and Regional Ombudsman Meade, we were honored to provide support to all four officers. We will continue to keep Officers Whitman, Boggs, Robinson, and Mullins in our thoughts and prayers.
