Admin Assistant II Sheri Porter passed away from heart failure on October 19, 2024. Her husband, Tommy, was assisted to help with funeral expenses.

Sheri Yvonne Porter, born on November 1, 1963, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on October 19, 2024, in Norman, Oklahoma. She was the beloved first born daughter of James and Doloras Gregory of Mustang, Oklahoma.

Sheri’s life was defined by her love for family and her ability to create a nurturing environment for those around her. She was a devoted wife to Tom Porter and a loving mother to her children Brittainy Vance, Brandon Porter, Alexandra Kittler. Sheri became an instant mom to Alexandra, sharing her warmth and care with all her children. Her strong bond with her family was evident in their shared adventures, whether it was taking the long way on trips or hunting for antiques together.

Sheri’s dedication to her family was matched by her commitment to her work, Sheri served the State of Oklahoma for 33 years, demonstrating a strong work ethic and reliability. A woman of gentle strength, she always took life one day at a time, embodying patience and a big heart.

In addition to her family, Sheri is survived by her loving husband, Tom; her daughters, Brittainy Vance and Alexandra Kittler and Alexandra’s husband Percy Kittler, along with her son Brandon Porter, her granddaughter, Riley Kittler; her brother, James Gregory, and his wife Julie; and her sister, Nancy Whitmill, and her husband Matt.

Sheri will be remembered for her quiet dignity, her soft spoken patience, and the gentle affection she shared, which made everyone around her feel completely loved. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
