Clerk Rhonda Osborne – EOW: October 21, 2004

Rhonda Lynn Osborne of Karnes City, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at the age of 33 years, 2 months, and 4 days.

She was born on Aug 17, 1971, in Columbus, Ga., to Meredith Spikes Dworaczyk and Thomas L. Dworaczyk Jr.

She worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in administrative segregation.  She had been with the department for 5 years when she was attacked by an inmate serving a life sentence for sexual assault. She was attacked in a storage room and asphyxiated.

Mrs. Osborne had resided in Karnes County for 15 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Karnes City.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dora Elizabeth Dworaczyk, Thomas Dworaczyk Sr., Isaac Spikes, and Verma Spikes.

Survivors include her parents, Meredith Spikes Dworaczyk and Thomas L. Dworaczyk Jr. of Karnes City; a daughter, Brooklynn Elizabeth Osborne of Karnes City; a brother, Stephen Mark Dworaczyk and wife Michelle of Victoria; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

 

Twenty years ago TDCJ, her correctional family, her parents, and her daughter lost this young woman. On the 20th anniversary of her death, CPOF keeps her family in our thoughts and prayers.
