Colorado Department of Corrections – Kathryn Kile

Earlier this year, Colorado Field Representative Guy Edmonds met Kathryn Kile, a single mom of three. While Guy loves meeting new people, as a field representative, it isn’t always under the happiest of circumstances.

From Guy:  Katie has been employed with the Colorado Department of Corrections for just over a year. When she started, she signed up to contribute to CPOF with the intent of helping others. Little did she know circumstances would dictate her own need. Her 6-year-old daughter, Mickeigh, underwent a heart transplant when she was 13 months old. In January of this year, complications required them to travel over 200 miles to Denver for weekly appointments. These medical and travel expenses had an impact on Katie’s family. After receiving catastrophic assistance from CPOF, Katie said “Thank you for supporting us and being there to assist us. “Taking Care of Our Own” has a whole new meaning to us!”
