Centennial Correctional Facility located in Cañon City, Co

Elaine Stricklett is a long-time supporting member of the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation.

13 years ago, she was assaulted by an offender. Over time, the damage in her hand continued to get worse and recently resulted in surgery to repair the damage.

CPOF’s Catastrophic Assistance Program was available to help Elaine with her out-of-pocket medical expenses as she went through surgery.  Recently, Colorado Field Representative Guy Edmonds was able to talk with Elaine and she said the following “I have been in the department just shy of 19 years. I’m married with 2 kids and 5 grandkids. After the assault that took place 13 years ago, I always try to help my fellow brothers and sisters to be aware of their surroundings and keep each other safe. I now suffer from PTSD. Prior to the surgery, my hand would go numb and also hurt in between my 1st and 2nd knuckles, now those issues have subsided. I would like to thank the CPOF for their generosity in helping with the medical bills I incurred from the surgery.”

We would like to thank our supporting membership for making it possible to be there for our brothers and sisters in need.
