SOS Andrew Shaffer at FCI Thomson in Illinois had emergency surgery to remove his appendix and a portion of his intestines due to an infection. The emergency surgery was followed up with multiple days in the hospital. Due to the surgery and recovery, he is unsure of when he will be able to return to work.
