The Stockholm family is one of inspiration. John is a survivor of the 1971 Attica Riots. His wife Mary has been by his side since years prior. They are both pillars of their community. Both have been friends to CPOF since the beginning. They have been to PROJECT 2000 and other events sharing their experiences with the Attica Riot, the aftermath both for their family and their community and being epitomes of strength for those around them. The courage and bravery they show in educating and supporting others going through assaults has been nothing short of remarkable.
On Monday, November 13, their 15 year old grandson, Johnny Jay Miller, earned his wings.
His obituary, in part, reads:
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Johnny Jay Miller, a brave young warrior who valiantly fought against insidious evil of cancer. Johnny, aged 15, departed this world on November 13, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of strength, courage, and the enduring love of those who were privileged to know him.
Born to Stacy Stockholm, Johnny was a beloved son and brother. He is survived by his mother, Stacy Stockholm, and his brother, Charlie Miller. Johnny’s family provided unwavering support and love throughout his challenging journey, creating a bond that will forever remain unbroken.
Johnny found joy and inspiration in the simple pleasures of life. A passionate basketball fan, he cheered with fervor for his beloved Mavericks, finding solace and excitement in the victories and defeats of his favorite team. His enthusiasm for the sport brought joy to those around him and added to the vibrant spirit that defined his character.”
Please join us in showing the same support, kindess and compassion that this incredibly family has shown to their CPOF family. Our most sincere thoughts and prayers are with you.
