Dear Correctional Peace Officers Foundation,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity and for allowing me to be a
recipient of the CPOF Scholarship. This scholarship has been a great help to me in starting my education
at Montana State University. I am most grateful for all the support you have given me as I am a first-
generation college student. With the help of the CPOF Scholarship, I was able to purchase the books
required for my classes and buy supplies and materials that will help me succeed in said classes.

Currently I am an Agricultural Business major with an emphasis on Ag Econ and Livestock Management. I
am currently taking a course load of 14 credits and have joined many clubs on campus that will help me
work towards my major and have offered me internship opportunities. I plan on taking 14-18 credits a
semester to stay on the path and graduate within 4 years. Thanks to you, I am one step closer to that
goal. By awarding me the CPOF Scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden which allows me to
focus more on the important aspects of school. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give
back to the community. I hope to one day be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have
helped me.

This summer I was fortunate enough to attend Project 2000 XXXIV. I got to see first-hand what this
organization does. The foundations motto of, “Taking Care of Our Own,” I can easily say is more than
just a motto. I got the opportunity to meet some of the best people during my time at Project 2000 and was
able to hear the heroic stories shared by so many survivors. This experience opened my eyes as I came
to understand the sacrifices many of the peace officers have made while protecting our way of life. There is
so much that can happen in this line of work, and I can say without a doubt that those who paid the
ultimate price will not be forgotten. The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation works to continue to
support the families of those who have passed and show the true meaning behind the word “family.”

Not only am I thankful for being able to be a recipient of the CPOF Scholarship, I also want to say thank
you to the foundation for all that you do in helping and honoring those who have fallen and their
families; as well as showing me the true meaning behind the great motto of, “Taking Care of Our Own.”
