After responding to an “officer down” alarm, Correctional Officer Kara Fador suffered a sudden fatal cardiac arrest. Responding staff and medical help came to her assistance and she was med-flighted out of the compound. She died the next day April 12, 1997 due to the severity of the cardiac arrest.
