Administrative Assistant Jennifer Herdon serves at Madison Correctional Institution in Florida. When her husband, Roland, was diagnosed with cancer, their family found themselves facing not only the emotional weight of his diagnosis but also the growing financial burden of out-of-pocket medical expenses.

As medical bills accumulated, Warden David Allen and CPOF Representative Jim Freeman referred Jennifer to the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation for catastrophic assistance.

After reviewing the supporting documentation, CPOF was honored to provide financial assistance to Jennifer and Roland. We hope this support helps ease some of the financial strain associated with Roland’s medical care and allows the family to focus more fully on his health and one another.
