The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation is proud to recognize Colton Smith as a 2026 CPOF scholarship recipient.

Colton is continuing his education at Nelson University and is a second-year recipient of a CPOF scholarship.

The CPOF Scholarship Program is designed to do more than help students begin college—it exists to support them throughout their educational journey. Returning scholarship recipients like Colton demonstrate the dedication and perseverance required to continue working toward a college degree year after year.

Each scholarship awarded represents an investment in the future of correctional families and the next generation of leaders, professionals, and community servants.

Although Colton was unable to attend his scholarship presentation, his grandmother, Tami Dees, who serves in Health Services with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, proudly accepted the scholarship on his behalf—a meaningful reminder that educational success is often supported by an entire family standing behind a student.

The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation is honored to continue supporting Colton as he pursues his education at Nelson University and wishes him continued success in the years ahead.
