The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation is asking for your support for Correctional Officer Uduak Asukwo of Neuse Correctional Institution in North Carolina as she continues to recover from a serious medical condition that has left her unable to return to work.
Officer Asukwo was diagnosed with a pelvic tumor and has undergone two surgeries as part of her treatment. While the surgeries were necessary, her recovery remains ongoing, and she currently does not have a projected return-to-work date. As she focuses on healing and regaining her strength, the financial burden of medical expenses continues to grow.
Like so many correctional professionals, Officer Asukwo has dedicated herself to serving others and ensuring the safety and security of her institution. Now, she finds herself facing a difficult personal challenge that has impacted both her health and her family’s financial stability.
Medical documentation and related expenses have been provided and verified by the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation. Assistance received through the Catastrophic Assistance Program will help ease the strain of mounting medical bills and allow Officer Asukwo to focus on what matters most—her recovery.
The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation is committed to standing beside correctional professionals and their families during life’s most difficult moments. We ask that you keep Officer Asukwo in your thoughts and prayers as she continues her recovery journey.
Through the generosity of supporting members and donors, CPOF is able to provide assistance to correctional professionals facing unexpected hardships. Together, we can help remind Officer Asukwo that she is not facing this challenge alone.
