The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation (CPOF) is proud to stand beside Sergeant Leslie LaGrandeur of the South Florida Reception Center and his family following a devastating house fire that claimed their home and all of their belongings.
On December 19, 2025, Sergeant LaGrandeur, his wife, and their two children experienced an unimaginable loss when a fire destroyed their residence. In a matter of moments, everything they had built together was gone—leaving them to begin again from the ground up.
Sergeant LaGrandeur has dedicated his career to serving others within the correctional profession, and during this incredibly difficult time, CPOF is honored to support him and his family as they navigate the challenges ahead.
With a verified fire report on file and a recommendation for assistance submitted, the Foundation has provided financial support to help ease the immediate burden placed on the LaGrandeur family. Assistance was coordinated through institutional leadership, with a check issued to Warden Acosta on their behalf.
At CPOF, we understand that tragedies like this extend far beyond physical loss—they impact every aspect of a family’s life. Through the strength of our membership and the generosity of those who support our mission, we are able to respond in moments like these—when our correctional family needs us most.
Sergeant LaGrandeur and his family are not alone. During this time of rebuilding and recovery, we remain committed to standing with them every step of the way.
Taking Care of Our Own.
