Standing with Sergeant Nathanial Hale and His Family

The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation is honored to provide support to Sergeant Nathanial Hale of Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility in Colorado during a challenging and uncertain time as he navigates serious health complications connected to his prior military service.

Sergeant Hale is a veteran who sustained injuries while serving in the United States Army—injuries that continue to impact his daily life. He experiences periodic neurological episodes that affect his mobility, at times leaving him unable to move the right side of his body. These episodes have required multiple emergency room visits and ongoing medical care.

As a result of these complications, Sergeant Hale will be out of work for approximately three months. While he is covered through the VA, the frequency and severity of these episodes have created additional strain, both physically and financially.

Compounding these challenges, his wife has recently transitioned from her role within the department to enlist in the military, marking a significant change for their household during an already difficult time.

Like many correctional professionals, Sergeant Hale has dedicated his career to serving others—often while quietly managing the lasting effects of his own service. With limited leave available and an extended recovery period ahead, the burden can quickly become overwhelming.

In moments like these, the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation remains committed to standing beside those who serve. CPOF was proud to provide assistance to Sergeant Hale to help ease the financial strain and allow him to focus on his health and recovery.

We ask that you keep Sergeant Hale and his family in your thoughts as he works toward healing and strength in the months ahead.

Taking Care of Our Own.
