Honoring a Legacy of Service: Celebrating the Retirement of Kelli Forrester
The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation proudly announces the retirement of Kelli Forrester, a devoted Field Representative whose commitment, compassion, and service have left a lasting impact on CPOF and the corrections community nationwide.
Throughout her time with CPOF, Kelli exemplified what it means to Take Care of Our Own. Whether standing shoulder to shoulder with families during times of unimaginable loss, representing CPOF at memorials and anniversaries of end of watch, or serving as a steady and compassionate presence in moments that required both strength and grace, Kelli carried out her role with unwavering dedication.
Kelli’s work extended far beyond titles or duties. She was a trusted advocate, a reliable partner, and a familiar face to many who found comfort simply knowing she was there. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and heartfelt approach ensured that every interaction reflected the respect and honor owed to those we serve.
As a Field Representative, Kelli played a vital role in advancing CPOF’s mission, supporting fallen officers’ families, honoring the sacrifices of corrections professionals, and helping ensure no one walks alone during their most difficult days. Her contributions helped strengthen the Foundation’s presence in the field and deepened the relationships that are at the heart of our organization.
As Kelli enters retirement, we want to reassure our members, partners, and the corrections community that Texas will continue to be fully supported. Field Representatives Eileen Kennedy and Cathy Stokes will continue serving the state, ensuring a strong and consistent presence in the field. Catastrophic assistance cases will remain in the trusted hands of Stephanie Barone, and membership services will continue to be supported by Vicki Wahlquist. Together, this team will carry forward the commitment to service and care that Kelli so faithfully embodied.
While we will miss Kelli’s leadership and presence, we celebrate this next chapter in her life and all that lies ahead. Retirement marks not an ending, but a transition, one made possible by years of selfless service and commitment to others.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and the countless individuals whose lives were touched by her work, thank you, Kelli, for your service, your heart, and your dedication to the corrections community.
We wish you continued happiness, fulfillment, and peace in the days to come. Your legacy at CPOF will always remain part of who we are.
