The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation is honored to stand with Lydia Salinas and her family following the sudden and heartbreaking loss of her husband, Luis Bautista, who passed away unexpectedly on December 3, 2025, due to a heart attack.
Luis was 59 years old and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and provider. Born on April 30, 1966, in Tamaulipas, Mexico, he built his life around hard work, faith, and family. As a skilled contractor and carpenter, Luis took great pride in his craft and lived by a strong work ethic. Those who knew him remember a humble, kind man who found his greatest joy in time spent with his loved ones. A devout Catholic, his faith guided his life and was a source of strength for his family.
Luis is survived by his wife, Lydia Salinas Bautista; his children, Lindsey (Austin) Bautista Konjoyan, Louie Bautista, Tanya Lizeth Anastacio Rodriguez, and Monserrat Anastacio Verástegui; his grandchildren, Laiyla and Logan Konjoyan; his mother, Maria Anastacio; and numerous siblings, in-laws, extended family members, and friends who mourn his loss deeply.
Lydia, who serves as Administrative Assistant II, was faced with unexpected funeral expenses while navigating profound grief. Through a referral by Ashley White and documentation confirming Lydia’s financial responsibility, CPOF was able to step in and provide assistance to help ease this burden during an incredibly difficult time. Assistance was approved, and a check was sent in support of the family.
Pictured in support of Lydia are Warden E. Moreno and HR Supervisor L. Trevino, whose presence reflects the compassion and unity of the correctional community during times of loss.
No family should have to face tragedy alone. Through our Catastrophic Assistance Program, CPOF exists to ensure that when hardship strikes, our correctional family is supported with dignity, compassion, and care.
Please keep Lydia and her family in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to grieve and honor Luis’s memory.
