Standing With Teacher David Green and His Family

The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation (CPOF) is honored to provide catastrophic assistance to David Green, an Academic Teacher at Columbia Correctional Institution (CI) in Florida, as his family faces a serious medical challenge.

David was referred for assistance by Heather Rainey, Education Supervisor at Columbia CI, following his wife’s recent diagnosis of breast cancer. As she undergoes treatment, the Green family has been confronted with significant out-of-pocket medical expenses, creating both emotional and financial strain during an already difficult time. Medical documentation has been provided and reviewed in support of this request.

David is a valued member of the Columbia CI team, dedicated to educating and supporting those in his care. His commitment to service extends beyond the classroom, and his professionalism and compassion have made a meaningful impact within the institution.

At the recommendation of leadership, and at the request of the family, CPOF has approved catastrophic assistance to help offset medical costs and provide relief as the Greens focus on treatment, healing, and family.

CPOF is proud to stand with David and his family and remains committed to supporting corrections professionals when they need it most.
