On behalf of the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation, Oklahoma Field Representative Debbie Moore recently presented a catastrophic assistance check to Ramona Guerrant, Secretary V at Jackie Brannon Correctional Center.
Ramona’s husband, Eugene “EJ” Guerrant, passed away on July 22, 2025, from pneumonia and COPD complications. The check presentation took place at Jackie Brannon Correctional Center with Deputy Warden Amber Robinson, Warden’s Secretary Ramona Guerrant, and Field Representative Debbie Moore in attendance.
EJ’s life was one of passion, humor, and dedication to his family and community. Born in 1945 in Kansas, EJ was a proud graduate of St. John’s Military School in Salina, where he excelled academically and in extracurricular activities. He went on to earn an accounting degree from Wichita State University before building a career as a CPA and co-founding a family accounting firm with Ramona. Together, they raised their children in Antlers, Oklahoma, where EJ enjoyed fishing, collecting, and sharing his joy for the simple things in life.
Those who knew EJ fondly remember his love for music, his ability to talk to anyone, and his unique sense of humor that always brought smiles to others. Above all, EJ was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always showed up—sometimes in costume—to support those he loved.
The CPOF was honored to support Ramona and her family during this heartbreaking loss. As always, our mission remains to “Take Care of Our Own”, standing alongside correctional professionals and their families in times of need.
