Supporting Officer Antonio Anderson and His Family

The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation (CPOF) exists for one purpose: Taking Care of Our Own. Through our Catastrophic Assistance Program, we step forward to support correctional professionals and their families in times of sudden and overwhelming hardship.

Recently, we were called upon to assist Assistant Supervisor of Education (ASOE) Antonio Anderson of FCC Forrest City in Mississippi, after a devastating car accident left him with a broken back while driving home from work. This life-altering injury has placed Officer Anderson on Leave Without Pay (LWOP), creating both emotional and financial strain for his family.

ASOE Anderson is the father of three children, including two minor children at home, who depend on him daily. With the support of Staff of Support (SOS) Michael Thorton, who referred his case, the CPOF was able to provide immediate assistance to help ease the burden of lost income and medical recovery. All supporting medical documentation is on file, ensuring transparency and accountability as we extend this aid.

The catastrophic assistance packet was personally presented by CPOF Field Representative Annie Norman, who delivered not just financial support, but also the reminder that the Foundation and the correctional community stand firmly beside Officer Anderson and his family during this difficult time.

While financial support cannot erase the challenges ahead, it is a reminder that Antonio and his family are not alone. The correctional community stands behind them, offering strength, compassion, and solidarity during this difficult time.

The CPOF is proud to support Officer Anderson and his loved ones as they face the long road to recovery. His story underscores why our mission matters so deeply: when tragedy strikes, correctional staff and their families deserve to know that their community will be there to lift them up.
