The CPOF National Honor Guard

From CPOF National Honor Guard Commander Steve Dizmon:

cpof national honor guard steve dizmonSeven years ago the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation (CPOF) created a National Honor Guard. Since its formation, the CPOF National Honor Guard has been called upon to participate in various Memorial Ceremonies all across the country held to honor Corrections Professionals who lost their lives in the line of duty. Among the Memorial Ceremonies in which the CPOF National Honor Guard was present, solely or in addition to other Honor Guards, are those that were held for Federal Bureau of Prisons Senior Officer Specialist Eric Williams, Colorado DOC Executive Director Tom Clements, California Correctional Sergeant Gilbert Cortez and his K9 partner Mattie, and Nebraska Correctional Officer Amanda Baker.

The CPOF National Honor Guard is also an integral part of the CPOF Annual National Memorial Ceremony conducted every June at the CPOF’s Project 2000 event.

Below is a June 2014 photograph of the members of the CPOF National Honor Guard. If you would like to be considered to be a member of the CPOF National Honor Guard, select “Honor Guard Application” under “Honor Guard” (above) to access the necessary form.
